Workshops at King’s

The Centre for Hellenic Studies and the Institute of Making at King's College London, are hosting three days of exploration of early applied arts in spring 2012: we intend to focus on Textiles (Saturday, January 28th), Ceramics (Saturday, February 25th), and Mosaics (Saturday, March 31st), The aim is to offer an overview of the state of our understanding of these arts and to discuss how that understanding can best be disseminated to a wider public. Each day will bring together scholars, museum professionals and members of the general public to present and discuss the current state of the discipline within and beyond academic institutions and museums, whether the study of particular types of artifact or their curation. The interaction between academics, curators, practitioners and public is at the core of these workshops so that we can assist in building the future of these subject areas. All those with an interest in the subject should feel free to attend - we look forward to your participation! 

Workshops will take place in the Anatomy Lecture Theatre, 6th Floor, King's Building, Strand Campus.

Admission to each workshop  (to include morning coffee, sandwich lunch and afternoon tea) is £15, or £40 for all three workshops. Booking is available here.
