Public Masterclass - Arduino Plant Sensor (Session 4)
Saturday 15 October 2022 2:00pm - 4:45pm
Tickets for the Enamelling Masterclasses in Oct 2022 will be released in two batches, at 7am & 7pm on Thursday 22nd September.
Fully booked, join the waiting list here.
Would you like to try programming for the first time but don't know where to start? And have you ever wondered whether your house plant could be happier with some technological monitoring? If yes, join this masterclass where we will teach the basics of Arduino programming in order to create a plant care sensor.
During the session, participants will code a simple control system for Arduino, as well as utilising hands-on electronics skills such as soldering, fitting photo-sensitive and moisture sensors, using heat shrink, and eventually assembling a laser-cut plywood box to hold the components and board. Ultimately, participants will take home a fully functional plant sensor with which they can adapt readings to analyse their beloved house plant's needs.

Important information about our staggered ticket release for this event:
- We are trialling a staggered release for tickets to our enamelling classes, in case it proves to be an easier method for our audiences to obtain tickets to our public events.
- On Thursday 22nd September, half of the available tickets will go live to book at 7am. The remaining tickets will go live for booking at 7pm.
- Unfortunately, the tickets may be oversubscribed, so the staggered release doesn’t guarantee that you’ll get a ticket.
- If the event is fully booked you can join the waiting list, or join the ballot for blacksmithing masterclasses which opens on Friday 23rd September.
